I’ve always been a big fan of Google’s former motto of “Don’t Be Evil.”

When I share that perspective with people, a lot of times they’re pretty quick to ask why. I mean, sure, it’s definitely memorable, but isn’t that just table stakes?

If you stop and think about it, though, it’s actually pretty profound. In three short words, it provides a clear benchmark for decision-making. But it also goes beyond that to accommodate both the context in which decisions are made and the people who make those decisions.

Whether you were a programmer or a product developer or on the front line of sales, it empowers people to be nimble and intuitive as they leverage their unique skillset for the greater good.

And these ideas underscore why the first of our core values is intentionally very simple: “Do The Right Thing.” We conduct business in a way that engenders trust with clients, suppliers, research respondents, and employees. And that trust empowers them to do more of what they love most.

Count on it: what you put out there always comes back to you, and that’s why we always try our best to Do The Right Thing.
