Anyone who knows me also knows that my younger sister, Britt Hahn, was my best friend in the world. Though she passed away from brain cancer about five years ago and I miss her every day, she packed a ton of life into her 32 years. In the truest sense, she made every day count.

Britt had such a joyful spirit and she always cracked up anyone who was around her. I loved it whenever we could spend time around each other, laughing about the ton of memories we’d made together. And then we’d talk about work and life and art and food (and everything else!), and then of course we’d watch comedies together.

One time we took a weekend trip and on the flight decided to watch the movie “Bridesmaids” on the flight. Neither of us had seen it before and it was so hysterical that we couldn’t contain our bursts of laughter. The whole plane experienced it along with us, and a couple of people stopped us after the flight to find out what movie it was so they could rent it for a good laugh!

Life is short, sometimes way too short. I’ve been fortunate to work for companies that make products that I personally love or that have a mission that inspires me. That really matters because it has always been so important to me to love what I do.

In fact, the importance of that belief reinforced my decision to found Quantum Leap Insights. Starting my own company has been a lifelong dream, and I’ve been passionate about qualitative research since my career began. So I couldn’t be more excited to combine the two in this new chapter of my life.

And it’s the reason that one of our core values at Quantum Leap Insights is  “Enjoy the Journey.” Research is serious work, but it should also be fun. The best research happens when a team genuinely loves what they do, is excited about what they’re learning, and sees the tangible results of their work in the impact that it makes.
